A Quick Trip to Sugartown
Sugartown Overview
Reading time: 2 mins
There’s so much to keep up with in web3.
The space moves at lightning speed. There are new updates every day and projects launching left and right. It’s way too much information for a single person to cover and maintain their sanity.
That’s why I rely on some trusted people to help put things on my radar and filter out some of the noise.
One of them is EmpressRaeon.
Rae is a content creator, streamer, and a good friend. She streams web3 games every week and she’s funny as hell. For the past few months, she’s been a big advocate for Sugartown.
As I watched Rae get more involved in the game and community, I decided it was time for me to check out what it was all about.
So, buckle up, and let’s all take a trip down to Sugartown 🚌
What’s Sugartown?
If you don’t know, Zynga is a major game developer. They have over 200 million monthly active players and they're the ones behind some of the world’s most popular games like FarmVille, Zynga Poker, and Words with Friends.
There are currently 2 games on Sugartown but there are more on the way.
Sugartown's games
For now, you can only play during special events and you need to own an Ora to access the platform.
What’s an Ora?
Oras are NFTs that give you access to play Sugartown’s games and earn rewards.
Sugartown Oras
There are 9,999 Oras in the collection with varying traits and rarities. Besides being dope digital collectibles, you can stake Oras to generate Energy which you use to play the games.
Game Events
Sugartown runs monthly game events where you can play to win prizes.
The latest event was earlier this week. For 3 days, you could play their All Time Heights game and compete against others for a chance to win an Ora (currently worth $600).
In All Time Heights, you’re a goat whose goal is to climb a mountain, avoid obstacles, and reach the top before time runs out. Here’s a quick clip of me running through a level.

Pretty fun and addicting haha

You need to spend Energy to play each level, and you only get 3 lives to try and beat it. Oras generate a limited amount of Energy each day so you gotta make every attempt count.
If you beat a level, you earn Sugar Crystals which are like raffle tickets for the event prizes. The more Sugar Crystals you have, the more chances you have of winning.
I had hella fun playing and can’t wait for their next game event. I hope it’s poker 🤞
The Sugartown team and community were super welcoming (shout out to Camol). Their content is on point and I like what they’re cookin’ up over here.
Zygna played a significant role in onboarding users to Facebook and I bet they’ll also be a key player in helping grow the web3 space. They’re one of the few companies who dove into web3 and are doing it right.
I’m excited to watch Sugartown grow and see other gaming companies like Zygna go deeper into web3.
